ABN Amro Lease (formerly known as Amstel Lease) is an international equipment leasing company. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of ABN AMRO, it provides lease contracts throughout the whole world. From sea containers to production lines and from stock to printing presses. ABN Amro Lease is in the top segment of the equipment leasing market and conscientiously tracks market movements, so they can respond to the requirements and expectations of their customers. The decision: ITP integrates Oracle and the SAP Leasing application
Some years ago, ABN Amro Lease was looking for a solution that would enable them to create contracts and other documents efficiently and reliably from a web-based lease application. Data from both the iSeries and the Oracle environments needed to be used at the same time. This meant the solution had to provide optimum control over the whole process. This solution also had to make it possible to generate documents in MS Word and PDF formats quickly and easily.
First of all, ABN Amro Lease developed its own web application, Upfront, an application that enables them to view data stored in both the Oracle lease application and the iSeries contract application. Aia Software implemented the ITP Server, which enabled ABN Amro Lease to generate contracts and other documents in MS Word or PDF format quickly and correctly. The ITP Server retrieved the required data straight from the Oracle and iSeries databases in the background and put together documents based on a previously selected model. This solution met all of ABN Amro Lease's requirements and has certainly proved its added value ten years later. ABN Amro Lease recently decided to switch from the iSeries to SAP Leasing for the invoicing application.
The new solution: ITP fits in seamlessly with SAP Leasing
The switch to SAP Leasing meant that ABN Amro Lease had to look for another solution to allow them to generate invoices automatically from this data source. One of the possible solutions they looked at was the ITP Document Platform, which has already been in use for several years. A preliminary investigation quickly showed that ITP can be integrated seamlessly with SAP Leasing and that it provides the flexibility that ABN Amro Lease was looking for. A small expansion was all that was required for the existing ITP set-up to be able to create documents from SAP Leasing. Of course, the fact that ITP is SAP Netweaver certified is an important factor. ABN Amro Lease is the first successful European implementation of the new SAP Leasing module. The ITP Server retrieves the data required from the Oracle database and the SAP Leasing module automatically and in the background. This fully automatic process primarily takes place at night, so that ABN Amro Lease employees now have a pile of invoices printed-out ready for further processing each morning. This makes the invoicing department’s tasks much easier and more efficient.
