ARAG Rechtsbijstandverzekeringen (legal aid insurances) provides legal aid assistance in the Netherlands. ARAG is part of the ARAG Group, which operates Worldwide in more than 15 countries.

The question:

ARAG worked with OV/400 for many years. Since IBM has terminated their support with OfficeVision/400, ARAG asked Aia Software to support them with the migration from OV/400 to ITP and MS Word.

The Solution:

"We have chosen ITP as the alternative for OV/400 data text merge" says Mr. Pastoor of ARAG. "Aia Software, together with our other partner has supported us with this migration.
For the conversion of our old OV/400 documents and our existing OV/400 templates (shell documents) Aia used their ITP/Office to Office conversion software." Mr. Pastoor continues: "This was the moment for us to review tactical and strategic demands we had concerning our document production. Until now we were working with a very complex print environment using printer overlays during the print process to finalize the documents. Choosing ITP made this much easier, we no longer need the overlays as this information is now included in the ITP templates."

"Working with MS Word and ITP instead of OV/400 makes the maintenance of documents much easier. Super-users, instead of IT-personal in the OV/400 environment, can easily edit text and layout. New documents can be set-up easy and in full accordance with the look and feel of the company. Besides this we are now able to make use of all kinds of barcodes to save money on portage costs. Furthermore, these barcodes enables us to print more efficient and save money on our printing process. Last but not least, we are now able to easily create documents in PDF format and print documents on line if required."
