Success Story Argus |
The Customer:
The Argus Group is a leading multiple-line insurer that serves the Bermuda market place. Their specialty is group plans for health and pension but they also provide solutions for property/casualty, workman's compensation, life and similar segments. The Argus Group boasts 125 staff, which is large by Bermuda standards.
The question:
Assistant Vice President Information Systems Mr. Michael Wicks: "in the spring of 2000, we went live with a new AS/400 based health system from Genelco, HBMS. A flexible system, we could develop our own integrations for the production of customer documents. To achieve high quality output, a solution that leveraged the sophistication of MS Word was desirable. Initially, we chose to use Insystems Mosaic for this purpose as we had acquired the tool for another project. Regrettably, due to a weak integration with the AS/400 platform, we went live with a solution that was very problematic. Instead of our AS/400 moving towards "lights out", it quickly became hands-on, requiring much nursing every weekend. Our customer service reputation was being tarnished. We were feeling the pain at several levels."
The Solution:
Mr. Wicks continues: "In the fall of 2001, we decided that major surgery was necessary. Being also a Rebus Genius shop, we owned ITP and explored the possibility of using it for HBMS print production. After a successful proof of concept that saw two Aia analysts in Bermuda for one week, we decided to engage Aia for the re-write and mentoring of our document specialist beginning early 2002. By June, we were running live with most of our documents."
How did you experience the support by Aia Software? "Very good. From marketing to development, all staff at Aia are first-class. Very responsive and accommodating. A pleasure to work with."
"Currently, Aia consultants from The Netherlands support our model developers remotely using a secure connection. Complex parts of model documents are developed in The Netherlands and deployed on the Argus system remotely. This way of working is efficient and saves the cost of traveling."
The Bottom line: Big advantages with ITP.
"Today, not only is the system robust, but we are in the process of transferring operational responsibilities out of IS and into the business unit - something we had always intended to do but which has taken us nearly 3 years to achieve."
