Looking back at 2010

From 36 to 4 templates

John Kara, Managing Director, Australia & New Zealand

For us 2010 was the year of an important ITP implementation combined with Microsoft CRM and SharePoint. The customers existing in two public sector commissions, are both document-heavy entities and until recently there was no central supervision for template management.  It required a lot of manpower to personalise different letters and notices to the public. Both commissions produce thousands letters using FoxPro reports and using a complicated mix of Microsoft Word mail merge templates and a Visual Basic-controlled application that generates Word documents. The commissions needed an integrated and unified platform that could streamline the composition of large-scale automated documents. It was also critical that the platform they chose integrated directly with Microsoft applications such as Word, Dynamics CRM and SharePoint.

By employing the use of ITP Document Platform, the number of templates required is effectively reduced from 36 to four, dramatically improving the speed at which new documents are composed and managed. A spectacular result! We can tell they are happy as they are back for more, initiating two other sub projects to extend the ITP’ capabilities. They have now been using ITP for just under a year, and we have trained 2 business users over 3 day period. Now they are creating new documents for themselves. Apparently prior to ITP it used to take weeks for a new document request to come full circle from their desk to the IT department and then back again.
