Business Empowered Communications
Over the last years we have been adding features to ITP to empower the business users to maintain the content of their business documents. Enterprise Content management has become more business managed. This is a direction that we are continuing in our product and all its new features. In this newsletter we introduce to you our new Content Wizards.
Content Wizards
Content Wizards extend the class of documents that can be maintained by business users without the need for scripting. Content Wizards allow business users to define a document in terms of sections, subsections and text blocks and to specify which of these elements are mandatory and which are optional.
The end user producing a document is presented a dialogue in which he can see the structure of the document and interactively select the optional elements that he wants or needs in his document. Content Wizards were originally developed for complicated negotiated documents such as London Insurance Market slips and cover notes, legal contracts, etc. But they are also ideally suited for correspondence solutions where you are defining letters with one or two mandatory texts and a couple of optional text blocks for the body of your document.
Enhancements to ITP/Online Server
We also realized important enhancements to the ITP/Online Server version of which our customers have significant benefits.
Session handling
First of all, we improved internal session handling and API's which offer an easier integration with your application because less bespoke coding and scripting is needed. Implementation will be easier and faster. Furthermore, the calling application has more control over the document creation process.
New feature: Suspend and Resume
An end user can press a suspend button when creating a document with ITP/OnLine. The session is suspended and saved in a session save file. The data and an intermediate result document are saved. This is a great benefit for your business users who have to compose extensive documents and sometimes are depending on, and waiting for, response from others, colleagues or clients. When the session is resumed, all previously given answers and selections are restored and the user can finish creating the document.
