Tips & Tricks: Multi-Labeling or Multi-Branding
This section takes a closer look at ITP's specific functionalities and options.
What is it?
What does multi-labeling mean? Some organizations offer their products and services under different brands or labels. As an example, suppose we have a training service provider: the company might provide training services under its own name, but also via partnerships. The quotations, course materials and invoices are sent on different letterheads and in different styles. However, a large portion of the content is the same in both cases.
This is also often the case with mortgage lenders and insurance providers.
What can ITP do?
ITP makes it easy to keep content for documents and correspondence the same for different labels, but also to modify it to suit the different label or brand styles. The appearance differs - logo, font, margins – but the content is largely the same.
How does it work?
When a document is created, the content is determined first, and then the formatting of one of the available labels is applied. The author can select from among the different labels, or the label to be applied can be derived from the data available (in the database).
Benefits
Content for all brands/labels is maintained from a single location. There is no proliferation of documents due to separation of style (templates) and content. Adding a new label is a simple procedure.
Content comes first, but style makes the difference.
