Aia Software adds the automatic production of MS Word document feature to MS Office System InfoPath
Nijmegen June, 2003 - Aia Software recently integrated Microsoft InfoPath with an ITP Web Services backend that allows the automatic creation of business critical documents from dynamic form data as provided by InfoPath.
Microsoft InfoPath provides an environment in which information workers can complete forms quickly and easily, and then connect this information to organizational business processes. ITP (Intelligent Text Processing Software) on the other hand, forms a complete document composition solution for the production of business critical documents. ITP provides functionality that exceeds the mail-merge functionality of Microsoft Word. It has extensive database connectivity capabilities, it delivers documents in various formats, including Microsoft Word and PDF, and it has advanced document delivery support.
Users work with the InfoPath client. Under water, this client will send document production requests to ITP/Online, which will then produce and deliver the documents. Possible solutions include returning each document as part of an XML reply, e-mailing it as an attachment, or archiving it.
- Data Modelling: determine the data set that is needed for producing a document.
- User Interaction Design. This will basically consist of the creation of (a set of) InfoPath forms that provide the data that is required for producing a document.
Document Design: designing the content and layout of the documents that ITP will produce.
About Aia and ITP Software:
ITP Software automates the production of documents and e-output from applications and application data typical of governments, financial services and insurance companies. Compared to other tools, ITP offers more price performance with a simple-to-use tool that can be used to create any kind of document. ITP supports faster front end development using common word processing packages like MS Word, making it easy for a wider range of users to work, and resulting in development times reduced by as much as 50 percent. ITP seamlessly integrates into core applications while remaining transparent to the end user, and final documents are created without external scripts, macros or applications. The software's richly featured end-to-end output processing covers all key functional areas with a single modular toolset. It supports both workstation-based and high-volume server-driven document generation. ITP is compatible with all standard data sources and platforms, as well as a variety of output formats including e-formats such as PDF and HTML.
