Aia Software launches ITP 3.5: the power-house for document composition
Enabling end-users in document and textblock management
Nijmegen, April 2009 – Aia Software, producer of the ITP Document Platform, launches ITP 3.5. This release gives businesses even greater control over document content. Highlights of this version include the new Content Wizard and enhanced features for dynamic labelling. Features within the ITP/MDK Repository have also been expanded and optimized. Inclusion of several best practices gained from implementation projects has enabled implementation times to be drastically reduced in ITP 3.5.
“This new version supports Aia Software’s strategy of transferring responsibility for document and text block management back to users”, says Leon Pillich, CEO Aia Software. “The additional functionality gives businesses a short time-to-market for correspondence and better management of customer communications.”
Business control
Content Wizards enable the content manager to specify the document structure by way of a user-friendly graphical interface. The manager can use this to specify whether sections are mandatory or optional. End-users can retrieve the document models and pick and choose from the optional sections. This has a variety of applications, from documents where the document structure comprises many sub-sections, through to standard correspondence. No programming is required. Content managers can introduce changes in the document structure easily by themselves. They are no longer ruled by the availability of the IT Department and consequently the lead time for changes is significantly reduced.
Within ITP content and presentation can be split, dynamic labelling enables the easy association of (multiple) branding independent of the document content. If an organization wishes to amend their house style or incorporate an additional brand, all it has to do is enter the new house style and associate it with existing documents.
Reduced implementation time
Features for integrating ITP within business applications and making this available in a service-oriented architecture have been enhanced, resulting in more straightforward implementation and reduced implementation times. Improved security and enhanced integration features have also broadened the scope of application of ITP/OnLine Server in solutions requiring web based interaction.
The functionality of the ITP/MDK Repository, the ITP model and content management environment, has also been greatly enhanced. For example, the word processing tool has been improved and the ITP/MDK Repository now also uses IBM DB2 for Unix, Windows and Linux and PostgreSQL databases.
Existing ITP users can download the new software from the Aia Software website. More information about ITP 3.5 can be found here.
