Aia Software is the first to receive the LaQuSo quality certificate

Nijmegen, April 24th 2008 - The ITP Document Platform from Aia Software - an international organisation in the document composition and automation industry - is the first to receive a LaQuSo quality certificate. This certification has been carried out by the Laboratory for Quality Software (LaQuSo), an independent cooperative venture between the Technical University Eindhoven and the Radboud University Nijmegen. The LaQuSo award certifies that the software is error free based upon a set of predefined criteria.

Following this certification, Aia Software’s ITP Document Platform has become the first software product that can actually consider itself error free in terms of the LaQuSo criteria. The functional scope of the ITP Document Platform covers the authoring, creation, processing and distribution of documents of all kinds. Aia Software became the first company to receive the certificate during the LaQuSo symposium ‘Verification and Validation of Software systems (VVSS) 2008’ that took place in Eindhoven on Thursday April 24th.

“It’s a first in The Netherlands that a company receives this certificate for the quality of software”, so explains Marko van Eekelen, Director of LaQuSo Nijmegen. “Due to the enormous complexity of larger software packages up until now not a single research institute has ventured to issue a quality certificate for software. Because of its global leading position as a scientific research institute in this area LaQuSo has become the first to deliver a declaration that a software product complies with predefined criteria. This collaboration between the Technical University Eindhoven and the Radboud University Nijmegen has enabled the development of tools to verify and validate software. The absence of errors that are hard to trace is the main point of the certification.”

Paul Dirven, CEO of Aia Software: “This certification is a confirmation of the competence of our R&D department, which mainly consists of Post-Graduate Information Scientists, which results in the high quality of the ITP Document Platform products. Therefore we are honoured to be the first software company to receive such a certificate.”
