ITP/Online Server supports office workers in composing complex Correspondence and other highly personalized documents. ITP/OnLine Server has a browser-based user interface, and it can integrate with any business application and data source. Based on ITP/Server, ITP/OnLine Server is a scalable, high-performance document production solution.
Interview feature for the creation of on-demand individual documents
After logging into ITP/OnLine Server, users are presented with a list of available document models in their browser. The user can select the appropriate model from the list and start the composition of a new document. This process is highly interactive with forms opening in the browser with additional questions.
These forms:
- Capture data or text that is not available from existing applications.
- Enable users to make specific choices from predefined options.
- Might depend conditionally on previous answers or application data.
ITP/OnLine Server automatically creates all these forms based on instructions in the ITP document model. No knowledge of HTML is required. The forms support the use of data entry fields, check boxes and drop down menus. Help texts assist users in the process. All dialogue formatting is done using CSS and XSL style sheets, which enables full customization of the web form layout.
Any business document
ITP/OnLine Server Letter Writing System is based on ITP document production technology, which provides very rich document modeling capabilities; it can create any business document. The generated business documents are based on ITP model documents.
Text-Block Correspondence
Users can select the text-blocks that they want to use in their daily correspondence. Text-blocks are organized in logical groups like "building permit clauses" or "claims text-blocks". Text-blocks can contain data variables that will automatically be filled with data from the company's business applications. In the result document, text-blocks can either be edited by the user or contain protected, non-editable text.
Supported word processor formats
Generated business documents e.g. Correspondence, can be edited as regular word processor documents if required. ITP can produce documents for the most commonly used PC word processors, like Microsoft Word and OpenOffice.org. Documents can also be generated in PDF format, through ITP's built-in, high performance PDF support.
Supported data sources
ITP can retrieve data from several databases. In addition to using data from different kind of data sources ITP can also use data that is captured in the interview process of the Letter Writing System. The captured data can optionally be passed on to an application in order to store it in a database.
