Many organizations are looking for a way to automate document and correspondence composition. MS-Word is the most common used word processor on desktops. Often organizations investigate the possibility of using MS-Word as a server-based process to create their business documents. They then run into the limitations of MS-Word, since it has not been designed as a server solution.

Aia Software is the producer of ITP, a line of software that can automate document composition on the server, using MS-Word as a design interface for ITP Model Documents (our super templates). Many functions are added to the standard MS-Word functionality to meet the high demands of today's businesses.

In the modeling environment we added:

• An advanced solution to use any kind of data from databases and applications, including XML and XML Web Services.
• An instruction language, enabling the use of programming conditions and data formatting.
• The possibility to use building blocks with text, instructions or data.

All this is controlled from our ITP/MDK Repository - which you could consider to be a source management system for our ITP Model Documents.

ITP Model Documents are compiled to "executable" programs that can run on ITP/Server. ITP/Server runs on Windows Server and is a scalable solution, able to process large batches and/or many individual requests. ITP/Server offers a scripting language with over 35 different commands to compose, manipulate and distribute documents. ITP/OnLine Server is available to interact with users in a browser based dialogue process. This eliminates the need for Word Templates, Macro's or Visual Basic on user workstations.
