ITP 3.5: Empowering business users in template and content management

ITP Information Architecture Content

Business users are the owners of the business process, therefore they should be able to maintain documents developed for their customer facing communication. Enterprise Content management has become more business managed.  ITP 3.5 offers a profound variety of content management features specifically aimed at document generation: Text Blocks, QForms and Content Wizards.

Text Blocks

Text block functionality enables users to create documents and correspondence based on pre-defined, reusable text components. Text blocks may contain pure text or may include embedded data fields in the form of variables. Variables used in Text blocks are either populated through standard ITP data retrieval mechanisms or through end-user interaction.
Text blocks play an important role as dynamic content of ITP models (templates). This functionality provides organizations with the means to manage document content efficiently and minimizes the time-to-market for changes.

QForms

ITP provides functionality to enable users to interactively produce their documents. This functionality uses ITP Forms. A key requirement in the development of ITP Forms has been to  improve the user experience in the process of filling in forms. ITP Forms offers a wealth of interactive functions, suitable for both interactive correspondence and electronic forms applications. Forms are especially powerful when combined with text blocks in which case they are called Qforms. A Qform defines the questions for the variable fields in the text block. The values for these fields would not exist in the host database so have to be populated by the user during runtime.

Content Wizards

To empower the business users to maintain the content of their business documents even more, Aia introduced Content Wizards. Content Wizards allow business users to define document content in terms of sections, subsections and text blocks and to specify which of these elements are mandatory and which are optional.
