ABN Amro Lease optimizes invoice management with SAP Leasing and Aia Software’s ITP

ABN Amro Lease, one of the market leaders in equipment leasing, is the first Dutch company to start using SAP Leasing. The solution enables the company to streamline business processes at all stages of the leasing life cycle. This, alongside document generation in the invoicing process, was an important aspect for ABN Amro Lease. Integration between SAP Leasing and Aia Software’s ITP was key in this project.

Standard correspondence made easy

Some years ago, ABN Amro Lease was looking for a solution that would enable them to create contracts and other documents efficiently and reliably from the existing lease application, in a web-based environment. Aia Software implemented the ITP/OnLine Server. This server helps employees to produce standard and semi-standard correspondence in a simple manner and enables them to generate contracts and other documents in MS Word or PDF format quickly and correctly. The ITP/OnLine Server retrieved the required data straight from the Oracle and iSeries databases in the background and put together documents based on a previously selected model.

Replacing legacy systems

This solution met all of ABN Amro Lease's requirements and had proved its added value after ten years. However, ABN Amro Lease’s automation consisted of various legacy systems, which were ready for replacement. This, along with the need for more flexible systems, made ABN Amro Lease decide to switch from the iSeries to SAP Leasing for the invoicing application. SAP was chosen after a thorough selection process, during which various packages were considered. SAP Leasing enables the leasing company to streamline the business processes at all stages of the leasing life cycle.

Switching to SAP Leasing

The successful implementation of SAP Leasing was very important for ABN Amro Lease. With its extensive features, the solution supports the company in fulfilling strategic goals and enables them to manage the life cycle of contracts. The solution also helps users to identify financing options for lease contracts or loans, make mid-lease changes and deal with end-of-lease options and remarketing.

ITP fits in seamlessly with SAP Leasing

The switch to SAP Leasing meant that ABN Amro Lease had to look for another solution to allow them to generate invoices automatically from this data source. One of the possible solutions they looked at was the ITP Document Platform. A preliminary investigation quickly showed that ITP can be integrated with SAP Leasing and that it provides the flexibility that ABN Amro Lease was looking for. After previous successful implementations of ITP in some of the company’s business applications, the solution’s integration features were the deciding factor in making the decision. The ITP Server retrieves the required data from the Oracle database. This fully automatic process primarily takes place at night, so that ABN Amro Lease employees now have a pile of invoices printed-out ready for further processing each morning.

What impact does the ITP software solution have on ABN Amro Lease's management?

Arno Teigeler, Information Management & Automation manager, explains: “We have been satisfied with Aia Software's ITP Document Platform for years now. The use of ITP over a few years has ensured that our applications work together completely with one single document solution. In practice, this has led to lower management costs and more flexibility. On top of this, ITP provides us with a method of putting together all of our key business documents quickly and correctly, meaning we can achieve optimum control over the whole process.”
