Data from SAP applications can be used in the ITP document composition process by using XML Web Services integration or by using XML data that is supplied by SAP. This ensures an efficient way to use SAP data in business documents with a short time to market for new documents and changes.

This is particularly important because SAP applications are often deployed by administration-oriented organizations with a significant demand for the production of high volumes of complex documents.

The NetWeaver certification means that ITP/OnLine Server can be fully integrated into a SAP Enterprise Portal 6.0 solution and behaves as a so called iView. This means that the production of business critical documents, for example, letters, proposals and contracts, will be experienced by the user as a seamless part of the SAP application. ITP can also be used to control the overall company document style.

The need for an integrated correspondence system for SAP can be demonstrated by the fact that almost a hundred Aia Software customers are using ITP/Server with SAP. They retrieve data from SAP through the WXML Web Services interface.
