ITP requirements
Hardware
Concerning the hardware requirements we follow Microsoft's guidelines for their operating systems.
Server: ITP/Server and ITP/OnLine Server
The required hardware for the server software depends on the type of document composition application to be implemented characterized by such things as number of documents, complexity of documents and required turnaround times.
Aia Software recommends to follow Microsoft's recommendations as opposed to the requirements for the specific operating system.
The performance of an ITP/Server system is mostly influenced by memory and speed of storage (hard disk access).
Adding CPU's to a system will increase performance (when using ITP's scalability features), but adding another (even lightweight) server will almost always outperform an additional CPU.
The required hardware for workstations is standard Windows workstation equipment. There are no additional or specific requirements.
ITP supports all printers for which there are Windows compatible printer drivers. The most flexibility, performance and ease of use at a minimum cost is reached with PostScript or PCL printing. Printing via iSeries is supported as well.
More specific hardware requirements can only be given for specific situations.
