A new model containing model revisions is created when Create model is chosen from the shortcut menu of a document. At creation an [in development] model revision is made based on the [in development] revision of the document if you have locked the document and on the [current] revision of the document, if not. This is the work-copy of the model.
A successful creation followed by an unlock or freeze revision will save this work-copy, this [in development] revision, in a model revision.
Note
a model revision is based on the [in development] revision of a document if the creator of that revision – the user who locked the document – is the one creating the model revision. Otherwise the [current] revision of the document is used. When in doubt check the Status Bar at the bottom of the ITP/MDK Repository window. The current users name is displayed in the left corner.
