Before 3.2.19b

While the ITP Model ran, contents of the document were produced dynamically based on a parameter or a data field, and IF THEN instructions. Page settings like paper size, orientation, margins, page borders, and the contents of headers and footers could be created conditionally by using section breaks inside the IF THEN instructions.

When the formatting of text had to be dynamic, it required either conditionally producing paragraph markers with different styles or linking a template to the result document. The first option made the ITP Model document hard to maintain. The second option created a dependency on another file and when that file changed, the result document changed too.

Implementing and maintaining ITP Models with these conditional page settings was far from straight-forward because of the high complexity and the required knowledge of ITP and the word processor. The new functions described in this document make this a lot easier.
