Using the different Connection Types of ITP you can connect to different databases, database types or DBMS's. In some connection types, there might not even be a physical database from which data is retrieved. You could for example use Local Connection Entries that recalculate a set of Fields, based on the parameters every time the Entry is used. Depending on the database or DBMS and the connection type, you can use one or more Data Retrieval mechanisms.
