Dialogs

Welcome

The Welcome dialog gives information on the software and the version that you are going to install.

Enter name of the ITP/Server

Separate ITP/Server installations are recognizable by a name. The ITP/Server installation detects ITP/Servers that are already installed on the system and shows a listing with their names.

Enter the name of an existing installation to update an installation. Enter a new name to install a new ITP/Server.

An ITP/Server name cannot be longer than 16 characters.

Existing installation ITP/Server

This dialog will only appear if you entered a name of an existing ITP/Server installation in the previous dialog.

Select next to update the installation.

Choose destination directory

This dialog will only appear if you entered a new name for an ITP/Server installation in a previous dialog.

In this dialog you select the folder in which the ITP/Server programs will be installed.

Update programs directory

This dialog will only appear if you selected to install a new ITP/Server and if the software in the selected destination directory is of an older version than the software of the installer.

You can choose if you want to update the program folder in the destination folder that you selected. Be aware that in that case the program directory will be updated for all ITP/Server installations that use that particular program directory.

Choose Working directory location

This dialog will only appear if you entered a new name for an ITP/Server installation in a previous dialog.

In this dialog you select the folder in which the ITPWORK directory files will be installed. You need to select a directory that is accessible to all ITP/Document Processors that process ITP/Server jobs, as almost all files in this folder are shared among all ITP/Document Processors. Refer to section The ITP/Server installation folders for more information on the contents of this directory.

Select program manager group

This dialog will only appear if you entered a new name for an ITP/Server installation in a previous dialog.

In this dialog you enter the name under which a program group will be created in the Windows Start menu. The ITP/Server Administrator, the Monitor and the ITP/Server Manual can be accessed from this program group.

Set UserId and Password

In this dialog you should enter the Userid and Password for the account that will be used to run all ITP/Server services. A fast path to make the account have sufficient authorization is to make it local administrator on the machine(s) running ITP/Server.

If you (want to) have an ITP/Server installation that runs on more than one machine or intend to make use of network resources in your ITP/Server scripts, you need to enter an account that has the following rights:

The latter has to be configured for every system.

Some remarks:

Possible error: Failed to assign the 'Log on as a Service' right to the user.

To allow an account to run an ITP/Server Service, this account needs the right to logon as a service. This right is automatically assigned to the account during installation. If the installer fails to assign the right the following error message will be shown:

"Failed to assign the 'Log on as a Service' right to the user. See the installation guide for instructions how to assign this right manually." is shown.

The 'Log on as a Service' right can be manually assigned to a user profile through the Local or Domain Security settings in Windows. You will need administrative rights to do this.

This privilege can be either assigned directly to a user profile or to a group where it will transfer to the group's members.

Make sure that the assigned right does not conflict with the 'Deny login as a service' setting.

Optional PDF Features

ITP/Server applies third party software for creating and processing PDF files. You can use this software by accepting the license terms on the next screen. You can choose to decline the PDF support we offer in this installation , ITP/Server will be installed anyway. It is also possible to add the PDF support later on, by running this installer again on the existing installation.

Third party software agreement

The ITP/Server command DocToPDF (to create PDF output from a document) uses third party software. To use this software you have to agree to a special user agreement. This user agreement is presented to you in this dialog. If you choose Accept the DocToPDF files will be installed. If you choose Decline the DocToPDF files will not be installed. The rest of ITP/Server is installed normally and can be used normally.

If you choose not to accept the agreement now but wish to use the DocToPDF command at a later stage you have to reinstall ITP/Server.

Start installation

Press Next to start the installation.

Installation complete

If the installation is completed, this dialog will appear. Pressing the button Finish will end the installation. The ITP/Server Administrator will be started automatically.
