To make ITP even more versatile a document pre and post processing application has been added to the family, ITP/Server. This application has been designed with stability and scalability in mind. ITP/Server is used where output must be created in a multitude of formats. For instance, a letter to a client must be printed and archived and an account manager must receive it by mail. ITP/Server can control ITP to produce the letter and take the document and produce output in multiple formats in one run. ITP/Server is also used where high loads are expected both in terms of large batches as in terms of a lot of different jobs in a short time or even simultaneous.
ITP/Server can handle requests to perform a multitude of tasks, for instance running an ITP Model, simultaneous. Which tasks ITP/Server can perform depend on the Services installed. Services contain a Script written in the ITP Script Language. The ITP Script Language is a powerful language that contains a large number of functions and commands, among which a command to start ITP and run a model. This language poses almost no limit on what you can do within a document-processing context.
ITP/Server can handle simultaneous requests because it can contain more than one Document Processor. Each Document Processor offers all installed Services. One Document Processor Manager controls the Document Processors. This Manager divides all requests over all available Document Processors. Document Processors don't have to be installed on the same machine as the Document Processor Manager. This makes ITP/Server very adaptable to existing hardware and to expected loads.
