The Export mechanism writes ITP/MDK Repository objects to a special export file. These objects can be projects, folders, documents, ITP Models, DIDs, style projects, Style Documents and also all revisions that are related to the concerning objects. You can use the produced export file to import objects into another ITP/MDK Repository.
What is exported is determined by:
The Export mechanism is designed to simplify selection, i.e., if you want to export a document select it in the Tree View and when exported the ITP/MDK Repository will collect and export all necessary objects needed to recreate an ITP Model from the imported model document.
The ITP/MDK Repository allows multi-selection in the Content pane. The Shift and Ctrl keys can be used to select more than one listed item. For instance to multi-select some documents in a project for export select the project, the Content pane will show all documents in that project. Click on the first document you want to export and press the Ctrl key, hold it down and click on the next document. Repeat until all documents are selected. Note that all items shown in the Content pane can be mutli-selected, be it projects, folders, Text Blocks, and other building blocks.
Export/Import can be used to transfer objects to another ITP/MDK Repository installation, to archive specific section of the ITP/MDK Repository or to send a section to the Helpdesk. Note that copies of objects are exported; the export process will not affect the exporting ITP/MDK Repository.
