If you are using Internet Explorer/Windows clients and you haven't set the JavaScript variable in the texts.js file to false, in other words you are not using the HTML Forms File Selection control, the problem is likely to be with the ActiveX control used to upload files.fileEditActiveX
To diagnose the problem start with checking the security settings in the client browser. Under normal circumstances the browser will notify a user when the security settings prevent an ActiveX control from being used. However to make sure the security settings do not cause the problem check the settings:
1) Choose in the client's browser:
In the window, called Security Settings, that opens there is a section concerned with AvtiveX controls and plug-ins. Scroll to this section.
Recommended settings are:
If you use the above settings the user will not be prompted in any way.
2) Go to the diagnostic HTML page that will tell you if the download of the ActiveX control from the webserver failed.
Enter in clients browser: <your ITP/OnLine Server URL>\support\ITPOLSActiveX.htm
A page will open that will show some text and an icon. If this icon is an ITP icon the download succeeded if no icon is displayed the download failed.
3) If the download of the ActiveX control failed it is possible to install this control by hand. Should there be any problem on the client that prevents the installation of the control, installing it by hand will most probably show this problem in dialogs.
To install the File Upload ActiveX control by hand do the following:
Front-end\support\ITPOLSActiveX.cab in your install directory.<your ITP/OnLine Server URL>\support\ITPOLSActiveX.htm page again in the client's browser to check whether the installation was successful. See point 2 above.
