On this tab characteristics can be associated with an object. The characteristics are defined on project level and are only visible on this tab if they are defined. If the roles you have in a project allow it, you can change, group, or add characteristics by clicking the tab Define Characteristics. You cannot change characteristics from this tab. You can only associate them with the object you are configuring.
First listed in this tab are the characteristics that are not part of a group in the project. The groups with their characteristics are listed below them. You can choose to associate as many, or none, of the characteristics to the selected item as you want by checking the corresponding check box.
How many characteristics you can choose within a group depends on the settings for that group, as set on project level. If a group only allows you to choose one of its characteristics the controls will be radio buttons, if it allows you to choose more than one of its characteristics the controls will be check boxes.
Characteristics can be used in a Search operation. Refer to ITP/MDK Repository Manual chapter Characteristics for more information.
