In ITP Model Documents, abstract references are being made to retrieve and manipulate data. These abstractions are defined in the Database Interface Definition (DID). During Model creation, ITP will check with the DID if all the references that are used in the Model Document are correct. In the resulting Model these references will be replaced by information from the DID how to actually retrieve the data.
Creation and maintenance of DIDs is therefor an important task in ITP. The ITP/SDK MultiPlatform (SDK/MP) is the component that will aid the DID Developers in the process.
With the SDK/MP a DID Developer can create and maintain a DID Document in which the Database Interface Definition is specified. The SDK/MP interprets and translates the information in the DID Document during DID creation. The DID creation process results in a DID that is used during Model creation.
In most cases the DID Developer will also have to make manual changes to the DID Document. This can be done in the word processor of choice.
