Microsoft Word

We advice to disable (or never install) grammar and spelling tools.

After installation the following options should be modified:

• In Tools > Options on the Print tab;
  • enable Update Fields.
• In Tools > Options on the Save tab;
  • disable Allow Background Saves.
• In Tools > Autocorrect;
  • disable everything on all tabs.

Microsoft Word requires the presence of a Desktop directory. Without this directory ITP/Server is unable to open Microsoft Word documents. The location of this directory depends on the versions of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Windows:

• for the 64-bit version of Microsoft Word 2010;
  create directory %WINDIR%\System32\config\systemprofile\Desktop
• for 32-bit versions of Microsoft Word:
  • on 32-bit versions of Microsoft Windows Server 2008;
    create directory %WINDIR%\System32\config\systemprofile\Desktop
  • on 64-bit versions of Microsoft Windows Server 2008;
    create directory %WINDIR%\SysWOW64\config\systemprofile\Desktop

If these directores do not exist ITP/Server is unable to open Microsoft Word documents.
