Names and terminology

This manual introduces several ITP products and components. Specifically, this manual applies to ITP/Workstation, ITP/MDK, ITP/Server and the SDK/MP together with the Connection components.

This manual used to be the ITP/CS and ITP/Batch Server manual which means that there might still be references to ITP/CS and ITP/Batch Server in the text.

Rule of thumb:

• Wherever there is a reference to ITP/CS, it will now apply to either ITP/Workstation or ITP/MDK. Remember that ITP/Workstation is the part of the software with which the Models are run and that ITP/MDK is the part of the software with which the Models are developed.
• Wherever there is a reference to ITP/Batch Server, it will now apply to the Run Model part of the ITP/Server software now.

To make reading this manual easier we will use ITP whenever we mean ITP/Workstation, ITP/MDK, the run Model part of the ITP/Server and the connections types. 'ITP product family' is used to indicate the collection of all ITP products, such as ITP/SDK MultiPlatform and the ITP/Server, etcetera. Note that in a few instances we use ITP to indicate the ITP product family. The intended use will be clear from the context. Wherever there is a reference to ITP/MDK or ITP/Workstation it only applies to the product named.
