OpenOffice.org jobs slow because of printer settings

OpenOffice.org documents may take very long to process when they refer to a network printer for which the account that ITP/Server runs in has no access rights. This may happen during ConvertDocument, PrintDocument or RunMacro, as OpenOffice will try to access the printer when opening the document. To avoid this performance problem you can choose from two options:

  1. Give the account access rights for the printer.
  2. Change the printer that the document refers to:
    1. Open the (model) document in OpenOffice.org.
    2. Select Printer Settings in the File menu.
    3. Choose another printer driver for the document, preferably a local one.

Note

Take particular care when you configure separate OpenOffice accounts for each ITP/Document Processor. Be aware that these accounts will be used by OpenOffice.org to access the printer when loading an OpenOffice document. Refer to the section Using OpenOffice.org with multiple ITP/Document Processors for more information.
