The ITP/Document Processors are the workhorses of ITP/Server; it is this part of the product that does the actual work. The more Document Processors, the more requests can be processed simultaneously. This Load Balancing feature makes ITP/Server infinitely scalable; you can add Document Processors to cope with a given load. These Document Processors can all run on one machine but can also be divided over more than one machine. In fact, it is possible to add Document Processors and machines that run Document Processors to an existing and even running setup to cope with an increased number of (simultaneous) requests.
