Purpose of the export

There are several reasons to decide for an export. For each purpose there is another option, because it leads to another result:

Transfer to another system

This will create an export set to transfer ITP/MDK Repository objects to another ITP/MDK Repository installation, with no further specific interpretation. Dependent on the options selected below, the current revisions or labeled revisions will be exported, perhaps with older revisions included.

Archival or helpdesk

Select this option if you want to store a project on file for archival purposes, or when the helpdesk requested an export file to investigate a problem. Such an export is the most complete one, including labels and characteristics, all revisions, authorization and users. If you create an archive, make sure to also safely store a copy of the current ITP/MDK Repository installation programs.
