Which other software is needed depends on the tasks the ITP/Server has to perform. If you want to generate spool files, you need the appropriate word processor. You need printer drivers for each type (or family) of printer in use. ITP/Server can be used to generate generic spool files for a printer type (or family) and send these to specific network printers. The network printers themselves do not need to be configured on the server.
If you want to use the command DocToPDF to create PDF output, you have to install the Amyuni files during the installation of ITP/Server. This is third party software provided by Aia Software BV and to use it you have to accept a special agreement.
