Selecting the source files
Folder

With the setting Folder you select the point were you want to start the selection of files. If for instance C:\my files is set, the selection will start in the folder my files on the C: disk.

By default your C: disk is selected. Use the browse button to select the folder that contains the files you want to import. A window pops up with the standard Microsoft Windows file selector.

Note

If you just click the OK button without selecting a starting disk or folder and without altering the mask all Microsoft Word files on your C disk will be imported into the ITP/MDK Repository.

Include subfolders

This option enables you to load a folder structure with all its files and folders. If this box is checked the folder structure from the point of selection down is copied into the ITP/MDK Repository.

If a folder is selected all files in this folder will be loaded. If this option is checked, all subfolders and their files will be loaded as well.

Note

Empty folders and folders containing no files that comply with the mask are skipped.

Mask

With a mask you can pre-select the kind of files you want to load. By default all files with a .doc extension (Microsoft Word documents) are selected.

Wildcards

Both Microsoft Windows wildcards: ? and * , can be used in a mask. You can use the question mark wildcard ? to represent any single character, and the asterisk wild card * to represent any character or group of characters that might match that position in other filenames.

Files

In the box Files: you select the file that you want to load into the ITP/MDK Repository. Selecting a Directory and setting a Mask narrows down the result.

Selecting an individual file or folder

You can select one individual file by clicking on it in the File: box. The selected file will be loaded. You can select all files in a folder by selecting the folder itself.

If the option Include subfolders is checked, a folder, its subfolders, and their content are loaded as well. If no files that comply with the mask setting are present in a folder, that (sub) folder is not loaded. In other words, if a folder is empty it will be skipped in the load process.

Importing multiple files

More than one file can be imported by selecting the folder that contains them. Files can be excluded from import by setting the mask. It is not possible to select files manually from different folders to be imported in one operation.
