Within ITP/Server the ITP/Document Processor Manager uses a TCP/IP interface to communicate with the ITP/Document Processors (on the same or on other machines). This internal interface is set on the tab Servers. The Manager as well as the ITP/Document Processor uses this setting. The Host named on this tab, is the machine running the Manager. The ITP/Document Processors may or may not be on the same machine as the Manager.
Note
The 'Send keep alive probe' can be switched off when ITP/Server runs on one machine. This setting is used to prevent the connection between ITP/Document Processors on remote machines and the ITP/Document Processor Manager from being timed-out by firewalls or routers.
The remote ITP/Document Processors will send a 'keep-alive' probe over the connection if the connection has been inactive for the specified amount of time.
