The start TCP/IP Daemon operation has 6 parameters:
PORT
The port on which the WindowsEnabler Daemon listens for request. The port is either a resolvable symbolic name or a port number. The default port is 10300. If you use this port you can just specify the host address.
TIMEOUT
The WindowsEnabler communication manager (WECM) request time-out. This is a time-out value used by the WindowsEnabler-TCP/IP Daemon after it has started a new instance of the WindowsEnabler communication manager job. Within the time-out period the communication manager has to report back to the Daemon that it has finished initialising.
After reporting back to the Daemon, the Daemon itself will be ready to accept other WindowsEnabler-client start-up requests. When you encounter time-outs (see the Daemon's joblog for this) you have to increase this value.
The default value is 120 seconds.
JOBDCMD
Job description used for the WindowsEnabler/400 Communication Daemon.
JOBDCM
Job description used for the WindowsEnabler/400 Communication jobs.
JOBQCM
Job queue where the WindowsEnabler/400 Communication jobs are to be submitted to.
All these parameters have sensible defaults.
Keep-alive
The WindowsEnabler communication manager (WECM) keep-alive interval. Every time the interval elapses, the WindowsEnabler communication manager sends a special keep-alive package to the client. This option can be used to keep connections active if intermediate devices (routers, firewalls) would disconnect the client after a specified amount of inactivity. Set this value to *NONE to disable the keep-alive feature.
The default value is *NONE.
