Test the client configuration

• Start or go to an AS/400 terminal emulator session. This session should run on the same PC that is running WindowsEnabler.
• Enter the following command on an AS/400 command line.

<WE_LIB>/STRWINPGM CMD(NOTEPAD)

• NOTEPAD should be started on the PC.
• If this does not work then disconnect WE/400. If you use a terminal emulator that supports PCO, go to an AS/400 session and enter the command <WE_LIB>/SETRTVID MODE(*PCO). Connect WE/400. Retry the STRWINPGM command.

If you use a terminal emulation that does not support PCO, go to an AS/400 session and enter the command <WE_LIB>/SETRTVID MODE(*USER). Activate the setting Identification based on the user id of the current user on the Connection configuration tab of the PC configuration program. Connect WE/400. Retry the STRWINPGM command.

• Close NOTEPAD.
• You have now successfully installed, configured and used your first WindowsEnabler/400 client PC.
