Troubleshooting TCP/IP

If for some reason TCP/IP communication does not work between a PC and your AS/400, you can perform a simple test. Use the ping command from a Windows command line:

ping <tcp/ip address of your as/400>

Examples:

ping 10.0.0.1

ping myas400.mydomain

If any errors occur, there is a general problem with your TCP/IP connection. Correct these problems before you attempt to use WindowsEnabler/400.

You cannot start the WindowsEnabler/400 Daemon if there is an other program that uses the WindowsEnabler/400 TCP/IP port. You can verify this with the command: NETSTAT *CNN.
