Updating an ITP/Server or ITP/Document Processor installation is done by running the installer of a more recent version. The installer will recognize the existing installation and will not replace or overwrite any changes. Before starting the installer, please make sure that all ITP/Server or ITP/Document Processor services are stopped, and the ITP/Server Administrator is closed.
If the ITP/Server update does not include updates to the ITP/Server system scripts, at the end of the update the ITP/Server or ITP/Document Processor will be left running, using the same compiled scripts that were running before the update. However, if the update does introduce new ITP/Server system scripts, the update will leave the ITP/Server or ITP/Document Processor in a stopped state. In this case, the scripts must be manually recompiled before the services can be started.
Note
The update installer will never re-compile scripts. If an ITP/Server update includes script updates, these updates will only become operational after compiling the scripts and then selecting Save & Apply. If an ITP/Server update includes system script updates, the ITP/Server services will not start after the update, and a manual recompile is required in order to be able to start the ITP/Server services.
